Historical "Waterborough, Maine" Postcards

These postcard reprints represent a period of Waterboro history between two major fires which destroyed much of the landscape and most of the buildings in Town; the first major fire was in 1911; the second was the more well-known "Fire of 1947".

Jim Carll, President of Waterborough Historical Society, has purchased and provided these reprints from a collection owned by Penobscot Marine Museum. The museum has graciously granted permission for these images to be viewed on this website for the education and enrichment of the Town of Waterboro (historically, "Waterborough").

To purchase your own copies of Waterboro postcards, or similar offerings, visit the museum's website at www.penobscotmarinemuseum.org. Penobscot Marine Museum also has extensive collections of small craft, marine art, furniture, tools, ship models, and scrimshaw. The museum hosts many permanent exhibits, in addition to special and temporary exhibits of rare items.

The Town of Waterboro is grateful for the opportunity to share these postcards with you!
