Dates Set for Old Home Days

A community tradition lives on

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Waterboro, ME. The Waterboro Old Home Days Committee has set the dates and begun planning the 24th  annual festival. Scheduled for July 10 and 11th at Massebesic High School, Old Home Days (OHD) boasts great food, fantastic fireworks, family fun and free entertainment.

This year’s theme is “Saluting Heroes, Here and Abroad”. “We want to pay homage to all the troops as well as our local heroes” stated Deb Eisenhauer, chairman of the committee.

The schedule for the event will be similar to prior years, opening on Friday evening with several local teen bands performing a concert. Leading the festivities on Saturday morning will be the Main Street parade, starting at Straw Mill Brook Road and ending at the High School. Getting into to the parade is a great way to build exposure for your organization and it’s free! To register, contact Lisa Tutor at 247-6117 or lisatutor1@aol.com.

Saturday fun will continue with rides, vendors, entertainment and games for all ages to enjoy. As always, the big finale of the weekend will be the fireworks after dusk. Have something to sell? Vendor applications are available at Waterboro Town Hall or contact Deb Eisenhauer at deisenha@roadrunner.com.

Have any extra time that weekend? The committee is looking for a volunteer with a sound system for Friday night and additional volunteers for parking, set up and clean up. If you can help, please contact paulgilson770@securespeed.us

Thousands of people enjoy Waterboro Old Home Days purely for the opportunity to spend a few days with the entire community, others come just for the spectacular fireworks. Either way, mark your calendar now for July 10 and 11th, you won’t want to miss it.
