Head Start is a federally funded program for children aged 0 to 5 years old and their families. The program works to enhance children’s self esteem and school readiness skills and supports parents as the primary teachers of their children. Head Start believes that the home is the child’s first classroom where the earliest learning takes place. Parents are a child’s first and most important teacher.
Head Start is free for families who receive TANF, SSI, of who are applying for a foster child or families who meet federal income guidelines.
